What is Anticoagulation Management Service?

A service to monitor and adjust your anticoagulation medications for the period of time you need anticoagulation therapy.

Anticoagulation Management Service is overseen by your Medical Provider.

How long is the appointment?

Initial visits are scheduled for 60 minutes; this includes an assessment of medical history, blood testing and dose adjustments as necessary. Follow up appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes

What happens at the appointments?

  1. You will check in at the hospital Registration desk for each visit.
  2. You will be directed to the laboratory or to AMS for blood testing.
  3. You will proceed to AMS in the basement next to the Fitness Center to receive your test results.
  4. A Pharmacist or Registered Nurse will talk to you about your test results. They will also answer any other questions or concerns you may have. You will also receive written instructions for your dose adjustment and your next appointment.

How do I start?

Your Physician will refer you to the service. The AMS staff will call you to arrange your first appointment.
