Behavioral Health Services added at Baldwin Area Medical Center

Residents of western Wisconsin now have better access to outpatient behavioral health services close to home. Northwest Counseling Services, a leader in behavioral health since 1989, will be merging with Baldwin Area Medical Center, Inc. effective June 1, 2011. Counseling services will be available at Baldwin Area Medical Center and Roberts Medical Clinic. Currently, Northwest Counseling has offices in both New Richmond and Hudson, Wisconsin. Effective May 30, 2011, the office located in New Richmond will close. The office in Hudson will remain open until further notice.

“We are very excited about the new collaboration between Northwest Counseling and Baldwin Area Medical Center. The merger will allow us to provide a wider range of services to a larger clientele,” said Dr. Christopher Babbitt, Executive Director and co-owner of Northwest Counseling. “The team will be working with physician groups to further develop behavior health services in the region.”

The behavioral health counselors that will be joining Baldwin Area Medical Center staff are: Christopher C. Babbitt, Psy.D., Donna Elenkiwich, MA, LPC, Ross Phillips, MSW, LICSW, Steven Tyvoll, MA, LPC, Gretchen Weatherly, Ph.D., and Jerry Youngman, MS, LPC. Also joining the Northwest Counseling group is Mary DelVecchio, Psy.D., LPC who has provided counseling services at Baldwin Area Medical Center for the past three years.

Northwest Counseling provides child, adolescent, individual, family, couples, and marital therapy services. Psychologists also perform assessments for a number of potential issues, including Attention Deficit Disorders, learning issues, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Babbitt will also continue to provide Forensic Psychological Services as well.
